Painted the both Deadzone strike teams on one evening using speedpainting techniques.
They look pretty decent from an arms lenght. Army Painter's Quickshade can make a difference if you just want to rush out several miniatures to the gaming table.

Deadzone!
Decided to buy Mantic's Deadzone starter set. It looked like a good bang for the buck, a modular set of scenery, two starter factions and a rubbery playmat + rulebook and dices. Here's how I painted the scenery.

Cryx battlegroup part 2
I made some progress with my Cryx battlegroup. This time I added the OSL (object source lighting) effects with Badger Krome airbrush. This effect turned out to be surprisingly neat. It's easy to mess up and overdo. The trick is to add white with an airbrush very lightly where you want the glow to hit, then layer some thinned down color or ink on top using an airbrush and lastly wash it. If you use oil wash, you can blend it very easily using mineral spririts and a brush. The green really pops out in the end. Simple yet effective.
Not sure what next. Maybe I will highlight the metal edges a bit. Perhaps I will add some fluo yellow in the middle of the glow to make the glow more bright in the right places. To be continued...

Cryx battlegroup project
Started a new project last weekend. I honestly got more done than I thought. It was friday night on the first picture and sunday night in the second picture. I tried out some new weathering techniques. Also put up a Youtube channel and a facebook page. Subscribe and like if you like to get some updates from me. I've shot some tutorial and showcase videos, so you can expect those up soon. On my Facebook page I'm planning to add updates from my recent projects (more often than I update this blog). Anyway, this battlegroup is still missing necrotic glow, cloth on Deneghra (it will be blue, I ordered some P3's from Firestorm games) and bases obviously. Glows will be done with airbrush OSL technique.

Tau Devilfish
Hello 40k lunatics,
Here's a sneak peek of my Tau Devilfish. I've been working on it the past couple of weeks. It still needs some finalizing touches. While waiting the glue to dry on the flybases, I managed to put together my next patch of Tau, which is a unit of Kroot carnivores!

Riptide finished
After two weeks of painting (couple of hours almost each night), I managed to finish this beast. I have to say this model is my favorite of GW range. The price is decent and it's really a joy to put together and paint. It's pretty easy to make it look really good on the tabletop. Oh, and the main weapon is magnetized should I ever want to switch.
On my hobby table I have now a Devilfish which is coming up nicely. The unopened pile o' boxes still look a bit depressing on the table, but I have my hopes up that I should be able to finish them all in time.
