Tau Broadsides

Finally had the chance to finish these. It's nice that now I have some room for other projects. I think I started these bad boys last autumn, but I had to put this hobby aside for a while due to health issues. I'm pretty happy how they turned out. It's always fun to make the weathering effects. This time I used some Tamiya weathering stuff. It's pretty easy to use and gives nice results. I need to find an alternative for oil washes... On my Tau it doesn't seem to work as good as it could.

Riptide finished

After two weeks of painting (couple of hours almost each night), I managed to finish this beast. I have to say this model is my favorite of GW range. The price is decent and it's really a joy to put together and paint. It's pretty easy to make it look really good on the tabletop. Oh, and the main weapon is magnetized should I ever want to switch.
On my hobby table I have now a Devilfish which is coming up nicely. The unopened pile o' boxes still look a bit depressing on the table, but I have my hopes up that I should be able to finish them all in time.

Hello all,

I started working franticly on a Tau army. I plan to get 1750 worth of points for a club tournament in november. My plan is to finish painting a box per week, although I slipped from that already when I took two weeks to paint my 12 firewarriors. Here is a wip of some progress from what I have on my table at the moment. The hammerhead was sitting on my table for months when I was trying to figure out a perfect colour scheme for my army. Then I decided to go with this sort of cold camo with contrasting orange. I think it works rather well. You might wonder how I did the camo, well, I'm planning to make a video tutorial for the that later on when I get the chance. More pics of Riptide coming soon. Next I will paint the metallics and put on some oil washes before I put it together.
