Hello 40k lunatics,
Here's a sneak peek of my Tau Devilfish. I've been working on it the past couple of weeks. It still needs some finalizing touches. While waiting the glue to dry on the flybases, I managed to put together my next patch of Tau, which is a unit of Kroot carnivores!

Riptide finished
After two weeks of painting (couple of hours almost each night), I managed to finish this beast. I have to say this model is my favorite of GW range. The price is decent and it's really a joy to put together and paint. It's pretty easy to make it look really good on the tabletop. Oh, and the main weapon is magnetized should I ever want to switch.
On my hobby table I have now a Devilfish which is coming up nicely. The unopened pile o' boxes still look a bit depressing on the table, but I have my hopes up that I should be able to finish them all in time.

Hello all,
I started working franticly on a Tau army. I plan to get 1750 worth of points for a club tournament in november. My plan is to finish painting a box per week, although I slipped from that already when I took two weeks to paint my 12 firewarriors. Here is a wip of some progress from what I have on my table at the moment. The hammerhead was sitting on my table for months when I was trying to figure out a perfect colour scheme for my army. Then I decided to go with this sort of cold camo with contrasting orange. I think it works rather well. You might wonder how I did the camo, well, I'm planning to make a video tutorial for the that later on when I get the chance. More pics of Riptide coming soon. Next I will paint the metallics and put on some oil washes before I put it together.

Wargaming table
Greetings, my colleagues of minicrafting
I started this project a month ago. It's still a work in progress, but I thought I'd share the results so far. My aim was to get a decent gaming board with low costs to play games of Hordes, 40k or whatever. It still came out pretty costly with all the tools I needed to get for it, but still cheaper than those hideous plastic gaming boards.
I started out with a couple of Finnfoam pieces and hardboard glued behind it just for the sake of fortification. I used installation glue to put it together.
Next step was to add extra fortification in the form of two wooden planks that were leftovers from our kitchen cabinets. I guess you can pretty much skip this step, but I wanted the board to be really steady...

I made these hills from pieces of foam, then glued them on top of the board. I used some mastic or putty whatever it's called to get rid of the seams and to get more texture. It took darn ages to dry.
I then made a mixture of paint, terrarium sand and glue for the crap that I call the "texture goo". Texture goo was painted on top of the board to give it some color and texture. I started to hate that color very soon and painted more reddish brown on top of it.
Ok, this was the result of painting the new brown. Paint is still wet in the picture, sorry. It came alright though.
My paint gun.
This was the result after tons of flocking with Gale force 9 flocks and adding autumn bushes and painting the hills. I'm not 100% happy with it, but I will be adding more flock and hays once I get the stuff I ordered for this. I will post pictures of the finished board later.
As a side product, these nice little hills came out.Saturday, 15 June 2013
Starting this blog and two Hordes armies!
Hello, fellow miniature enthusiastics!
This is my first blog text. I felt that it would be nice to track my progress in miniature painting.
After years of playing Warhammer 40k, I decided to give Hordes a try. For those who don't know, it's a two player skirmish game made by Privateer Press that takes place in the wilderness of Iron Kingdoms. You control a warlock who has a bunch of warbeasts at his disposal. It seems like a really cool game. You can download the quickstart rules for free if you want to look into it further.
I couldn't decide on the faction, so I bought two starter sets; Trollbloods and Legion Of Everblight. I was planning to paint these two sets first and then play a couple of games before I buy more miniatures. Hordes seem to differ from 40k in the sense that you don't need as many minis, thus it could be more affordable. Without further babbling, here are some Trollbloods I just painted:
